GET CONNECTED. GET EXPERIENCE. GET PUBLISHED.

Often the first to identify new demands and novel techniques, young people can tackle real challenges if given a chance. At our innovation-centered media company, students get the encouragement and freedom to attempt a big idea.

Through rigorous, hands-on training in media production and the business of journalism, young writers, visual storytellers, and entrepreneurs make connections with a global team of like-minded peers, get experience in the written and visual arts, and see their work published nationwide.

JOIN IGENERATION YOUTH

Our BASIC membership gives students what they need to get started — and noticed — by our editors looking for stories to feature in publications nationwide. Three additional membership levels enable students to assemble a mix of one-on-one or group instruction, workshops, peer mentoring, and networking.

GET MAGAZINES

Our family of magazines are produced by youth for an audience of their peers. Journalism-based editorial and educational features are designed specifically to meet the needs, interests, and capabilities of young audiences. Lesson plans and assessment resources for educators and standards-aligned activities for students, our publications offer plenty of opportunities for educators and youth to get involved (sold separately).

Whether you need just a few for students learning at home or in a pod; a classroom pack; a bureau; or an entire school, organization, or cultural institution, we’ve got you covered.

MAKE A PITCH

Which story ideas should we cover?

Many of the stories we publish are produced by freelance contributors who are paid for their work. Others start as ideas from readers. Whether you are an experienced storyteller wanting to produce a story or a young person who wants to suggest a story other youth might want– or need– to know, use these forms to tell us your idea.

As a publication that delivers news and feature articles specifically designed to meet the needs, interests, and capabilities of young audiences, we’re fascinated by stories that use a variety of storytelling formats – especially visual ones, since our readers tell us this style of storytelling often captures their attention the most.

iGeneration Youth is committed to sharing stories about people, places, activities, and ideas that deserve to be in the spotlight. We report stories with local, national, or global focus, so we encourage you to pitch us your ideas, no matter where you live.
